For a truly magical hiking experience, you’ll love the gorgeous Escondido Falls. The word “Escondido” means “hidden” in Spanish, and you’ll see that this lovely trail is worth being uncovered! Located in the Santa Monica Mountain valley in Malibu, Escondido Falls is the ideal place to get away from the busy city life of Los Angeles.
The trail is 3.7 miles long and is a generally easy route. It will take you and your group about an hour and a half to complete, so it’s a great choice for a hike that will make your day without taking up too much time.
After some more walking, you’ll come to the main attraction: the breathtaking waterfall for which the Escondido Falls Trail is named. The cascading water will mesmerize you! Feel free to stand or sit and admire the magical natural wonder as long as you like. Just make sure you don’t climb on the rocks.
On your way back, take note of the pretty creek and gorgeous forest surrounding you. It’s not too often that you get trees as far as the eye can see in the vibrant LA city area!
