In Milwaukee, it can be hard to believe that spring will ever come. Nevertheless, it always eventually does, and we know it’s true when we start seeing kites flying in our parks! Thousands flock to this amazing kite festival downtown every year, and it’s easy to see why. This kite festival is fun for the whole family, and you simply must experience it yourself.

This is a kite festival that thousands come to celebrate every Memorial Day weekend.

From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. you can see amazing kites, and fly one of your own! The "Grand Launch" is at noon, where 500 kites will go up in the air at once!
All of the kite flying professionals come out to this event.

Professional kite fliers such as Milwaukee’s own Mike Delfar and Paul Koepke will be doing kite stunts, and many kite flying teams will perform their acts.
This is truly an event for the whole family.

Bring the kids out, and if you get there first you may even get a free kite! The "Kids Mad Dash" lets the first 100 kids all launch their free kites at the same time. Besides jaw-dropping kites, there are musical performances and food available.
This year they'll be revealing a secret "super giant" kite, so keep your eyes peeled!

The Family Kite Festival takes place on May 26th and 27th, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
