We love hiking in Connecticut, but sometimes, you’re just not up for an all-day adventure. Maybe you’ve got the kids with you, or you’re not in the best of shape, or you have a limited amount of time on your schedule before you have to run errands. Just because you don’t have several hours on hand doesn’t mean you can’t get out and enjoy nature! We have plenty of shorter Nutmeg State treks that are perfect for even the busiest of explorers. One of our favorites is a quick and easy trail in Fairfield, CT at the Birdcraft Sanctuary. This is the country’s oldest songbird sanctuary, and so it comes as no surprise that it’s a great place for a stroll! Check it out:

For more information about the trail at Birdcraft Sanctuary, check out the Connecticut Audubon Society website or our friends at Alltrails. If you’re a regular hiker, it’s definitely worth signing up for a free trial of Alltrails+. Downloadable trail maps with turn-by-turn directions mean you never have to worry about losing signal out in the woods.
