If the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that the weird and outlandish is definitely possible. The world is a big place, but the universe is even bigger, and it’s easy to have questions about whether there’s life on other planets. There are things in the world that can’t be explained by reason or science, and the fact that it’s quite possible that there’s life somewhere out there beyond Earth makes it easy to see why people are so intrigued by unidentified flying objects spotted soaring through the sky. Many UFO sightings or claims of alien life forms are later disproved, but there have been several UFO sightings in Connecticut. Believe it or not, in the early 1980s, some of the most noteworthy and possibly credible UFO sightings of all were right here in Connecticut! Back in 1983 and 1984, there were hundreds of UFO sightings in Connecticut and New York that were reported.

Most of the sightings took place in Fairfield County and in New York's Hudson Valley.
The sightings were so common that The New York Times ran a report on them, and a hotline was set up to track UFO sightings.

The unidentified objects were flying in a V-shape formation that spanned to the size of a football field. They were silent and had white, red, and green lights.

Due to the shape and location near Westchester, New York, the UFOs were nicknamed "the Westchester Boomerang."
According to a nearby airport, the sightings were most likely caused by pilots who were intentionally flying in unusual formations to make them look like a single aircraft.

However, believers claim that many of the sightings could not be attributed to pilots goofing off. Many out there still believe that the Westchester Boomerang was a ship carrying visitors from elsewhere.
