Is it just me, or is fall in Georgia the most popular season? This is a great place to live no matter what time of year it is, but people really seem to love autumn. The end of our sometimes-brutal summer temperatures is a blessing, and many of us love pulling out our sweaters and flannels. Pumpkin spice lattes, apple cider, pumpkin patches, and fall festivals really make the season a grand time to be in the Peach State, and the fact that you’re surrounded by fall foliage makes it all the more magical. Whether you’re heading out on a leaf-peeping road trip or prefer to see the leaves with no windshield in the middle, checking out all of autumn’s awesome hues is an annual tradition for many Georgians. One of our favorite places to spot the season’s best foliage is on the Stone Wall, Tower, and West Overlook Trails at Fort Mountain State Park in Chatsworth, GA.

The brilliant shades of gold, scarlet, and orange make this an especially magical hike, but honestly, the overlooks here are pretty spectacular at any time of year.
