Here in the Peach State, it can be difficult to get in the autumn spirit when the season changes. After all, it’s not uncommon to have summer weather even through September, and it’s tough for it to feel like fall in Georgia when it’s 90 degrees or more outside. One of my favorite ways to get a fall mood is to visit a cidery in Georgia, and we have plenty of wonderful ones. Whether you like an adult drink spiked with alcohol or prefer the family-friendly version with no alcohol, there are plenty of great cider mills in Georgia that will put you in the mood for fall. Here are a few of the best apple cider mills in Georgia that you’ll want to explore this year:
1. Reece's Cider Company: Ellijay

It's quite surprising that Reece's Cider Company is the first cidery in Ellijay, Georgia. This small town is known as the apple capital of the state, and has several orchards, plus a fun-filled apple festival each autumn. This local, family-owned business serves up delicious hard cider and also hosts live music, making it a stellar option for a weekend getaway.
2. Hillside Orchard Farms: Lakemont

Hillside Orchard Farm in Lakemont is a wonderfully scenic spot to take the whole family. The store here sells up apple butters, ciders, and jams made from fruits and vegetables grown right on the farm. There's even a hay ride and corn maze during the fall for the little ones to enjoy!

Blue Ridge is one of my favorite fall towns to visit, and fall doesn't get much tastier than the cider slushies at Mercier Orchards. They're perfect for those hotter-than-they-should-be autumn days that are entirely too common in the Peach State. This 300-acre orchard has apple cider donuts, fried apple pies, and all kinds of other ways to enjoy the season.
4. Red Apple Barn: Ellijay

The Red Apple Barn in Ellijay is another wonderful destination for the whole family. There are all kinds of fall celebrations here, with u-pick apples, a pumpkin patch, farm market, and more. Both apple cider and peach cider are available at the farm market.
5. Urban Tree Cidery: Atlanta

Atlanta may seem like an odd location for a cidery, but that's just where you'll find Urban Tree Cidery. It's actually the first cider mill in the capital city, and all of the ciders are made in-house. The patio is perfect for warm weather days, and there's an inside tasting room as well.
6. North 2 South Cider Works: Lake City

North 2 South Cider Works is located about 20 minutes south of Atlanta. The cidery is currently open to the public only for special events, but keep an eye on the North 2 South Cider Works Events page in case anything is scheduled.
